How to permanently disable Cortana in Windows 10

Cortana is a built-in virtual assistant app for windows10. It was designed to make a user’s convenience and helping them with a lot of tasks. It’s like apple’s digital assistant, “Siri.” Cortana can recognize your voice and answer questions using information from your device and Bing Search engine. She uses user data to try and anticipate the user’s needs. She also offers to personalize recommendations and serve users based on their location and past behavior. Also, she can set a reminder, set the alarm, compose an email, calculate math, locate anything on the device, search the web, and so on.

After all, Cortana is an awesome tool in our consideration. But some people are worried about using Cortana for the sake of privacy. Because Cortana monitors pc usage, indexes, and stores user information also may collect data people would rather keep private.

After an update of “Windows 10 Anniversary Edition”, Cortana is more integrated than ever before, and with every major update, it’s going more integral to Windows Operating System. Also, Cortana is tightly deployed with Windows Search. So if you want to disable Cortana, you may lose some feature functionality such as reminders, news, etc. Microsoft Help page noticed that “Cortana can’t be entirely turned off.” So it’s our milestone to completely disable virtual assistant “Cortana” but not “windows search.”

Easy steps to remove Cortana

  • In the search result, right-click on Command Prompt
